PIL against Maya kin: HC for appeal to CBI, ED
The court further directed that the petitioner file supplementary affidavit about the result of his representation, if any, in the court and directed hearing of this case after five weeks. The above order was passed by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Dilip Gupta on a PIL filed by Vijay Singh Yadav of Allahabad. Brother of former chief minister Mayawati, Anand Kumar, Director of Enforcement Directorate, New Delhi and the CBI through its director have been made party in the PIL. The court passed the order as the petitioner had approached the High Court directly without approaching the respondent authorities to redress his demand. Therefore, the court granted liberty to the petitioner to file a supplementary affidavit in the court. In the PIL, it has also been prayed that ED and CBI be directed to submit the report regarding the investigation into about 49 firms of Anand Kumar floated after 2007, during the last regime of Bahujan Samaj Party headed by Mayawati. It has also been prayed that Anand Kumar and his agent including responsible state officials misused the state machinery to float the illegal firm be suitably punished under the relevant provisions of law.
